Privacy & Media Architecture

How Nexus handles your media streams, temporary metadata, and signaling.

1. Direct Peer-to-Peer Media

Audio and video streams are exchanged directly between connected browsers using standard WebRTC protocol (RTCPeerConnection). Video and audio tracks never pass through or get saved onto our Firebase database or any intermediate video storage server.

2. Signaling & Ephemeral State

Firebase Realtime Database is exclusively used for session signaling: WebRTC Session Description Protocol (SDP) offers, SDP answers, and ICE candidate negotiation. Once a call is ended or skipped, the associated temporary session data is permanently removed.

3. User Safety & Reporting

Never reveal personal information, home addresses, or financial data to random users. If you encounter abusive behavior, use the built-in Report tool. Reports record anonymous session IDs and reasons for abuse mitigation. No video recordings are preserved.
